- Wrap fennel seeds, cinnamon pieces, and lightly crushed peppercorn in cheesecloth and secure with kitchen twine.
- Pour wine into a large saucepan and add your aromatic bag, bay leaves, star anise, orange strips, and nutmeg.
- Cover and simmer for ten minutes, then remove from heat and let stand for 30 minutes.
- Take out bag and orange strips. Then stir in sugar until dissolved. Serve warm and enjoy!
