1. In large saucepan, place squash and onion. Add about ½ cup water, bring to a boil, reduce heat; cover and cook until tender. Drain well and pour into large mixing bowl.2. Stir butter, milk, eggs, 1 cup of cheddar cheese, 1 cup cracker crumbs, sugar, salt and pepper into cookedsquash.
3. Pour squash mixture into 1½ quart glass baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and cracker crumbs. Bakeat 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until squash mixture is set.
